On the way from Chania to Paleohora in the village of Kandanos this restaurant is a must if you wish to try real Cretan food or buy some delicious homemade products to take home with you. The restaurant is in the main square of the village – which gives it it’s name. Platia is open all year, serving traditional Cretan dishes – like lamb stew (tsigariasto), meat pies, stuffed eggplant and the seasonal treat of stuffed zucchini flowers. You can also buy product made by the restaurant – wine, olives and spoon sweets.
