This old Venetian style restaurant and its accompanying hotel boasts being in the same location for 700 years. Stone-flagged floors, mosaics and antique furniture add to the old world charm. The cuisine artfully blends Mediterranean and Cretan such as the Mille-Feuille of Salmon with avocado and sour myzithra cheese or the Lamb in vine leaves stuffed with cheese & vegetables. Definitely spare some time for the wine. The owner is a real buff and the cellar is impressive, which is why it just won first prize for the best wine list for a restaurant outside of Athens. It opens each year in late April-early May. Call for opening days and hours.
