Taverna GEFSIPLOUS (ΓΕΥΣΗΠΛΟΥΣ)

This is yet another outstanding establishment on this small road on the outskirts of Rethymno, with its terrace perched seemingly precariously on the rocks, almost in the sea. The ranks of trendy white-washed furniture in this bright white space creates a zen-like calm. There is an extensive array of seafood starters with mussels, cuttlefish and shrimp, as well as some innnovative salads. Focus is on fresh fish and seafood, which is first rate, but other notables include Ravioli stuffed with lobster with ouzo sauce and pine-nuts. Local house white is more than adequate.
