„Sailing in flavors” is a relative newcomer along the seaside row of eateries and cafés just after the Fortezza. The famous Athenian Chef Yiannis Baxevanis and owner Michalis are the culinary masterminds here and this is evident from the touches of genius that liven up ordinary fare such as the feta saganaki in a light phyllo crust with caramelized figs or the Grilled Calamari stuffed with Cretan graviera, tomato and the hard-to-find kritamon (sea-fennel). The atmosphere inside is lively and colorful and in summer,dining is across the street at the edge of the sea. A must try in Rethymno!
