 You won’t find a place any more authentic than this down home, charming, warm, whimsical taverna. Although it has been here for 29 year, it is still a well-kept secret in many ways. The walls are adorned with old doors (portes) and windows and country antiques and implements are strewn around. Summertime dining is in a bi-level garden. Everything is made with much care and attention using locally obtained ingredients. Manolis the owner does experiments and comes up with some great things like beetroot keftedes. The best rabbit stifado on the island can be found here and is made with the addition of plums and figs.  The red aromatic local house wine is a must.

I´m visitng the restaurant for many years know and it still surprises me with new flavors.
If you want to taste authentic Cretan Cousine in a very friendly place with Mr. Manolis you have to try it. For me the value of money is one of the best on the island and the surrounding is very traditional
