This restaurant’s swish interior in restrained shades of blues and browns with dark and blonde wood flooring and subtle nautical theme is a big surprise in the mass touristic heartland of Heraklion prefecture. This is a proper grown-up restaurant, despite its inauspicious neighbouring environs. Chef Christos Schinarakis, formerly of Odos Aigaiou is a whiz with fish and seafood so pretty much anything is a good bet. He does a lot with the hard-to-find „Rofos” (Grouper), including a fish soup. Some signature dishes are home-made ravioli stuffed with lobster or a starter of onions stuffed with myzithra and feta. The white house wine is a delightfully rare cuvée of Chardonnay and local Thrapsathiri variety. Summertime dining is on a huge outdoor terrace. A real keeper!
