This atmospheric small taverna in a renovated old house is located in the heart of the bustling central square of the village, with a rustic interior and tables on the square. On a Sunday lunch, well-heeled Herakliates come to village square to see and be seen. On order are a large variety of local mezedes (starters) and meat dishes, all artfully cooked. Ask for whatever has been cooked in the wood oven that day. Try the unique „gardoumakia with zucchini” or the lemon rabbit or rooster in a wine sauce with traditional pasta. The house wines are from the local cooperative, and are imminently drinkable, especially the white on a hot summer day.
