Part of the reconstructed 19th century village of Vamos, this venerable tarverna is in a restored 1905 building with cypress wood beams and original stone and a timeless atmposphere. The summer terrace is shaded by old trees and vines. It definitely packs a punch when it comes to food. A wood-burning oven is the base of the traditional Cretan menu utilizing ecological produce, with many daily specials. Meats are a must, such as pork with wine and staka or lamb with stamnagathi or meat pie with lamb & cheese. Barrel wine is their own and very acceptable.
